A dark and desolate castle stands at the center of a horrible kingdom where Empathy is outlawed. Despite the grave risks, a young girl finds the courage to escape through an unguarded opening in the stone wall. Desperately, she searches for a way to help her brother, a prisoner suffering in the castle dungeon.
While traveling through the forest, she meets a mysterious, yet kind man and his two dogs. He tells her a story about a Prince and his remarkable Quest. As she listens, she learns many lessons, not the least of which is that dogs are excellent listeners because they take the time to think about what they hear, instead of running away before knowing whether to fear or not fear.
Inspired by his story and gentle wisdom, the next day, the girl prepares to take on her own Quest to discover her Passionate Purpose. Before she leaves, the man entrusts her with a deeply infused, wam magic.
As she bids him farewell, she takes the first step toward accepting that her kind intentions hold more influence than any King’s law.

Her Heartstone is a folk tale for all ages that shares with readers the importance empathy plays in all our lives, and that we should always treat those we meet with dignity, regardless of whether we or not we walk the same path.

What Readers Are Saying:
"I recently came across Her Heartstone and was immediately struck by its timeless, allegorical power. A kingdom where empathy is outlawed, a young girl risking everything to save her brother, and the transformative wisdom found in both stories and companionship it reads as both a captivating fantasy and a deeply human parable.

"What resonates most is how Her Heartstone delivers its message through fable-like simplicity while carrying a universal truth: that compassion and kindness have more power to transform than fear or law. The imagery of the desolate castle, the gentle stranger with his dogs, and the girl’s quest toward her “Passionate Purpose” all feel both mythic and personal—reminding readers that empathy is not just an ideal, but a force of quiet rebellion. Her Heartstone is more than a novel, it's a quiet call to courage, kindness, and purpose." ~Lucille Wilson
"Wow, this story glows! A tale pulsing with folklore, courage, and heart.
The way it bridges the imagination of young readers (and, let's be honest, the inner dreamers in us all) is pure enchantment. It's the kind of book that could make an eight-year-old believe in wonder again... and remind adults why we ever did."
~Jacob Oliver
"Her Heartstone doesn't just tell a story, it invites readers into a living myth.
The way it intertwines folklore, courage, and tenderness makes it feel less like a fantasy and more like a rediscovery of something ancient we almost forgot."
~Janet Jackson
