Indie Authors: Are You Ready To Read Aloud?

If you are an Indie Author, and you'd like to read your story on my podcast, complete the form below.
To begin, please review the Indie Reads Aloud podcast guidelines:
    • Indie Reads Aloud Storytellers must be Indie Authors.  I define an Indie Author as a "self-published" author, or an author who publishes with a small press imprint, not affiliated with a Traditional Publishing House, who publishes fewer than 50 titles per year.
    • I am happy to welcome Indie Author Storytellers from anywhere on planet Earth!  However, you must read your story aloud in English.
    • Indie Authors, you are the Storyteller... this means YOU will read... not someone else.  I will do a quick introduction of both you and your book, and then you'll read.  At the end, I'll do a quick wrap up.  This is not an interview... this is storytelling!  Be sure to rehearse your reading before your recording date to be sure that you are comfortable Reading Aloud.
    • Each podcast episode will be thirty (30) minutes long.  Links to each episode will be shared on this website in the Story Notes (above) and on social media, the Pages Promotions YouTube Channel, as well as on the Anchor by Spotify podcast platform, and their distribution channels.
    • Storytellers may read a complete short story (or two, depending on time), a children's book, or a chapter of a novel or novella.  At this time, I am only podcasting fiction storytellers.  As the podcast grows, I might expand the program to include memoir, essay, poetry, and non-fiction... watch this space for updates.  If your reading is shorter than thirty minutes, we may have a short discussion, or end the podcast episode early.  I make no guarantees that your episode will be exactly thirty minutes long, but I do guarantee that your reading will not go over thirty minutes.
    • I accept Read Aloud Stories of every fiction genre, for every audience.  However, I must have prior warning of non-Family-Friendly content so I can alert my listeners.  All episodes are pre-recorded.  Stories found to contain non-Family-Friendly or Adult content surprises will not air on the podcast.  I'm happy to share stories with more mature content, I just expect some advance warning.
    • I define "Family-Friendly" stories as suitable for audiences with children... which means no swearing, no explicit sex, no explicit drug use, no explicit violence.  If it wouldn't be acceptable at a typical United States public middle school environment, it is not "family-friendly".   To reiterate, more mature content is acceptable, as long as I have advance warning.
    • Authors will be notified of the recording date within three days of when I receive your interest form (below).  Your recording date may be scheduled for a time in the future (perhaps a month or more) depending on the number of interested authors.  Authors will be scheduled for a recording session in the order in which they are received.
    • The target date to air the first episode is February 10, 2022; and future episodes will air weekly, on Friday (or more frequently, depending on interest).  The podcast will be discontinued in July, 2022 if there doesn't seem to be listener interest.
    • Indie Authors may Read Aloud on multiple podcast episodes, however, a separate form must be completed for each title.  Indie Authors understand that each episode will air separately, and no promise is made to "batch" record or air multiple episodes congruently for a single author.  I want to keep the podcast as diverse as possible to make it more interesting to listeners.
    • Indie Authors who Read Aloud are expected to help promote not only their individual podcast episode, but also the podcast in general, on your website, social media channels, and newsletters... it is the best way for all of us to reach more readers.
    • This podcast is offered to Indie Authors for Free, as an assist to your marketing platform.  But, if you'd like to make a donation to help sustain the program and help defray my costs, I would greatly appreciate the help.
    • If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at Diana@DKPWriter.com BEFORE you complete the form below.
I look forward to sharing your stories with the world!  Thank you!
***Remember: Mature content is acceptable, with advance warning.
