The Five
Written by
James Wittenborg
Over the past twenty-five years, five friends reunite for their annual week-long getaway of comradery and adventure. This year, however, Glen Feffley suggested something different; a lake house in the quiet Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. It's quite a departure from their usual trips. Eagles Point is a small town in rural America. Weathered signs hang above storefronts along its idyllic Main Street, and friendly local conduct their lives with a casualness that seems unconcerned with time.
The five men venture into town one night, looking for a bit of fun, unaware a heinous crime, rare for this town, has been committed at the restaurant where they stop for dinner. When the town's Chief of Police declares he has evidence proving some of them are involved, the five begin asking questions and doubting their decades-long friendship. Soon, they begin to unravel a secret this town has kept for far too long.
Can they re-establish trust and find the answers they need to clear their names?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: James Wittenborg is a novelist and long-time member of the space community. A senior systems engineer with a Masters in Space Studies, he began his career supporting Space Shuttle test flights from Houston's Mission Control Center. He then went on to support the International Space Station (ISS) in Reston, Virginia, and the ISS Robotic Canadarm at the Canadian Space Agency in St. Hubert, Quebec. Currently, he supports the Space Launch System (SLS) program at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
James is also the author of The Dream Traveler Series, a trilogy of novels that center around a person's ability to dream himself back to a particular place and time in order to passively observe events. This "gift" aids authorities in solving crimes, however, it soon becomes an unwanted burden when the wrong people become aware of it.
